Sharply-terminated, lustrous smoky Quartz points to 40 x 15 x 14 mm rising from a plate of Orthoclase and Quartz are richly covered about their bases with lustrous, fiery-orange crystals of Spessartine garnet to 4 mm. There are only a few very trivial chips on the Quartz, which was typical of these specimens. This is a great example, circa 2001, from another once-prolific Chinese locality that no longer produces, and is an ex. Rocksmiths specimen.
