71mm x 46mm x 24mm
$620 *
This well crystallised small cabinet sized Hedenbergite specimen comes from the Nordmark Odal Field at Filipstad in Värmland, Sweden. Hedenbergite is a calcium-iron silicate and is the iron-rich member of the Pyroxene group. The crystals here are multifaced as well, sharp edged and superbly terminated. They are showing dark bottle green monoclinic prisms up to 1 cm with an overall jet black appearance. Only on closer look with magnification can the thinner edges of the prisms be seen to be olive-green. A super specimen of a Swedish Hedenbergite with only minor imperfections,- largely at the periphery and even unworth to report.Data last checked on 22nd Feb 2025 - specimen may no longer be available
