Aquamarine on Muscovite (Ref: 4370)
Nagar | Hunza Valley | Nagar District | Gilgit-Baltistan | Pakistan
112mm x 91mm x 81mm
$4063 *
This is an exceptional Pakistani Aquamarine specimen from Nagar Valley, what until the mid 2010s, used to be part of the Gilgit District. The eye candy of this specimen is certainly the very central “skyscraper-like” cluster of sky blue Aquamarine (the blue variety of Beryl) crystals nestled a bed of six-sided, slightly silvery, tabular Muscovite crystals with a silvery color and satin luster. The hexagonal crystals of the Aquamarine cluster have a superb gem quality with an incredible translucency/transparency and an excellent vitreous luster. The flat terminations are perfect, the triangular s-faces are flawless; this Beryl crystal could come straight out of “The Atlas of Crystal Forms” from Victor Goldschmidt. Interestingly, a rehealed crack can be seen in the cluster itself, apparently caused by tectonic stress. This completely undamaged top specimen that was found in the late 1990s. And it comes with a custom fitted acrylic base.Data last checked on 28th Jul 2024 - specimen may no longer be available
