A beautiful specimen of babingtonite crystals over calcite from Roncari Quarry, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA. It comes from the collection of Stephen J. Gerome, MA, USA, with a label. The babingtonite crystals are very well shaped with a black color. Colorless calcite crystal with yellow hue forms the base. It is sharp lustrous and very well formed. It is transparent. The contrast is strong. It displays all over 360 degree. In excellent condition – some base part contacts.
