Calcite with Chalcopyrite (Ref: 1114931)

$65000
This is undoubtedly one of the finer examples to have come out of this large find known as the Dragon scale pocket. This piece measures a full 2 feet across and is in absolutely perfect condition. Many thousands of specimens have been recovered from this pocket since around the year 2017 or 2018. Most of these, despite commanding high prices, had cleaved crystals and show damage. This piece, I think, will hold up for the best quality to have been collected from this pocket in the years to come. The perfection of this piece, combined with the overall size, is nothing short of incredible. The dark color is due to inclusions of chalcopyrite. The crystals have a very good luster and the piece sits fine by itself or display. This will definitely need to ship in a crate up on a pallet, unless pickup in St. Louis is arranged. because of the large size, it is very difficult using a picture or a video on a computer or phone screen to truly convey the overall impressiveness of this piece. This one is truly super and one-of-a-kind.Data last checked on 25th Feb 2025 - specimen may no longer be available
