A fine specimen of garnet var. uvarovite from the type locality of Saranovskii Mine, Russia. It displays uvarovite crystals to 2.5mm, attractively growing with s white calcite. The uvarovite has a deep intense grass-green color and sharp rhombic dodecahedral habit. The crystals are very lustrous and sparkling, and contrast strongly around the white. The bottom is sawed.
