Wulfenite (Ref: 6158)

What a wonderful specimen with tabular, egg yolk-yellow Wulfenite on very little matrix. The specimen is from the historic Slovenian Helena Mine near Mežica in the Carinthia Region of Slovenia, which set the standard for a long time for the species as well as for classic European lead minerals in particular. Today, most collectors are familiar with the great Wulfenite from Arizona in the US, localities in Mexico and China, and have forgotten that Slovenia actually produced Wulfenite that ranks among the world´s top locales of the species. An this specimen is just such a piece, a very old specimen that is relatively large in size, a fine butterscotch color, and relatively thick, flattened crystals with very minor edge wear. A superb specimen and considering size and quality and overall aesthetics, the price is a bargain.
