Stepped Purple Fluorite (Ref: FB18-PRSTEPFL)
Denton Mine, Harris Creek Sub-District, Hardin Co., Illinois, USA
145mm x 110mm x 85mm
minID: 041-1GE
$2000
This large purple fluorite is covered with stepped faces, and when backlit you can see the inner phantoms. The specimen is almost a floater because it is crystallized almost completely around it. At appears that once in its life it broke off from the host rock, and the contact areas continued to grow. You can also see some small purple radiation spots. The condition is very good for a specimen this large. There are a few nicks, but with all the stepped detail going on it doesn't really show, especially when backlit. In some of the crevices is a yellow, granular material that's probably some sort of barite. Data last checked on 14th Sep 2021 - specimen may no longer be available
