This stunning and super aesthetic specimen is literally the textbook example of a classic elegant Silver wire from Kongsberg. It is thick and ropey, with great curving character and a subtly-coloured patina to it. The specimen exhibits all the classic attributes of the best Silvers from the world´s premier silver locality, in this size range and price range. Numerous of this ropey wires, superbly intergrown and accompanied by dull, quadrangular Acanthite. Naturally an elegant specimen in great condition and unbeatable aesthetics from the famous Dr. Hans-Jürgen Wilke collection. The specimen dates back to the 1910s. The silver mines in Kongsberg were in operation from 1623 until 1958.
