From a new release of a previous find at the Black Knife group, the specimens from the Mottramite Pocket feature the sharp quartz encrustation pseudomorphs after scalenohedral calcite that the locality has become known for, but were accented with a powdery coating of yellow-green mottramite. This specimen features a cluster of pseudomorphs – some damage reveals that the original calcite is still largely present. The mottramite is dispersed across the specimen, but has preferentially coated most of the secondary calcite which displays several habits. There is some damage on left-hand side and on the reverse; the pseudomorph on the right side is missing a small bit of the tip.
