SERANDITE, ALBITE (Ref: 19912)

Poudrette quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Rouville RCM, Monteregie, Quebec, Canada
46mm x 27mm x 23mm
$165
A beautiful specimen of serandite, albite, epididymite, aegirine, catapleiite pseudomorph, manganoneptunite and polylithionite from the famous Poudrette quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada. The seven minerals intergrow together. The hexagonal crystals of epididymite are very well shaped and sharp. They have porcelain white color. Black aegirine blades with good luster and colorless albite plates give an aesthetic finish and strong contrast. Serandite cubic crystals with a classic rich salmon-pink color and good luster are seen all over. Tan colored catapleiite pseudomorph after sodalite or eudialyte is seen too. Some very small manganoneptunite crystals with dark red color grow on the catapleiite pseudomorph. The polylithionite rosettes at the middle-left are shiny and light reflective. It displays attractively all over 360 degree. For references see the 1990 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 21, # 4. In very good condition – some small contacts. On acrylic base., Fabulous 7 minerals piece!,
