Rhodochrosite on Quartz (Ref: 1918)

This super fine and contrastful Rhodochrosite specimen features a disc-shaped and wonderful striated major crystal on Quartz matrix. And here you see this almost glowing, deep red, translucent Rhodochrosite perfectly exposed on glistening Quartz crystals. This is a classic and very rare specimen from one of the most important Rhodo finds of the mine and of Peru in general to most folks´s mind. These were found just once, in 1980. It has the superb colour and gemminess of the pocket, superb balanced aesthetics as you see on the pictures. The major crystal measures to 1,6 cm on edge and there is another tiny ´cousin´ with great clarity as well. This fine piece comes with high quality custom lucite base for display.
