Eosphorite on Rose Quartz (Ref: 2373)

Here we have a wonderful specimen, over 25 years old and it is one of the best small cabinet sized pieces of species we handled. A very aesthetic, classic and colourful specimen of Eosphorite, set on a single well formed Quartz crystal, from this world-famous locality. Lavra da Ilha is a small island in the middle of the Jequitinhonha River, and has produced some incredible phosphate species over the last 40 years. It is also the type locality for several phosphates that were discovered by Richard Kosnar in the 1970s. This piece hosts large, sharp, lustrous, well-formed, translucent, golden-brown crystals of Eosphorite which are aesthetically associated with pink and gemmy crystallized ´Rose Quartz´ at both sides of the specimen. The single Eosphorite crystals reach enormous 1,5 cm in lenght and there is no significant imperfection at the display face so far I can see. At the backside is the contact of the rock. This is a specimen with great aesthetics and a killer piece all the way.
