Elbaite & Muscovite (Ref: 6048)

This is a classic and typical Elbaite specimen from Stak Nala, Pakistan with a prominently exposed main crystal cluster in the center of the specimen. Two parallel, excellently terminated Elbaite crystals that extend through the matrix to the base of the specimen measure an impressive 5.1 cm. Both crystals are absolutely pristine and have a high vitreous luster with excellent striation parallel to the c-axis on the prism faces. The color ranges from a very dark green at the base to a distinct olive green in the upper fifth. While the lower sections are opaque, the upper sections of the crystals are translucent. The Elbaites are accompanied by tabular silvery-white Muscovite, water-clear quartz and snow-white Albite. A few smaller Elbaite crystals on the periphery are not all perfect but in no way distract from the overall aesthetic.
