$60
Pyrite is well known for it's perfectly formed cubic crystals, however this specimen has rejected that stereotype completely in favor of highly distorted and irregular crystals - there isn't a traditional cube on this specimen! The surfaces are highly lustrous and striated. The specimen shows no obvious point of attachement (a "floater"). Minor quartz and sphalerite are associated. There is some damage.Data last checked on 23rd Feb 2025
