Barite (Ref: CMS259)
Stoneham area, Weld County, Colorado, USA
69mm x 28mm x 15mm
minID: KD4-M4P
$375
An aesthetic cluster of wide, flat, unusually sharply-beveled, doubly-terminated blue Barite crystals from Stoneham. These blue, translucent, lustrous, flattened, prismatic orthorhombic crystals of Barite are up to 69 mm in length. These Barites are undamaged and complete all around 360 degrees, which is very uncommon for this find, and the color is richer than the later Leeson pocket material, suggesting this is one of the earlier 1960s specimens. This is a very fine specimen.Data last checked on 28th Jul 2024 - specimen may no longer be available
