Marvelous specimen of Quartz var. Amethyst from this less common Bulgarian locality - Chala Mine, Spachievo ore field, Bulgaria. It displays Amethyst crystals which grow in a crust. The color is very intense and saturated dark purple to colorless at the tips. The crystals are chunky with sharp pyramidal terminations. They have good luster to some frosty faces. Some small sparkling Pyrite crystals grow above and add a nice contrast. In superb condition. On acrylic base., Splendid!Data last checked on 28th Jul 2024 - specimen may no longer be available
