From a new release of a previous find at the Black Knife group, the specimens from the Mottramite Pocket feature the sharp quartz encrustation pseudomorphs after scalenohedral calcite that the locality has become known for, but were accented with a powdery coating of yellow-green mottramite. This specimen features a single pseudomorph – the bottom of the specimen reveals some dissolution of the original calcite. The mottramite, ranging from dark green to black, is dispersed across the specimen. A second stage of calcite accentuates the specimen. There is some damage to the reverse of the specimen.
