This is a stunning specimen, covered with numerous crystals of Mimetite from famous Pingtouling Mine. Pingtouling´s 2003-2004 Mimetite discovery rocked the collecting community. This transparent, well-formed, and superbly lustrous crystals from these pockets have a fantastic and beautiful look, and compare favorably in terms of sheer quality to the great Tsumeb Mimetites of the 1970´s. Each of these burnt-orange, hexagonal crystals is like a polished jewel, and they cover just enough of the matrix to look balanced without overwhelming. Pingtouling Mimetites have equaled or exceeded the best the world has produced from other localities, and these fiery, crystals are a choice example of this famous find.
